Teachers insert a calendar card into Canvas course announcements and pages in two clicks, and courses can show the calendar right in the course menu. Students and families pick a date without hunting for a link.

How it works
Admin → Developer Keys → + LTI Key
Method: Enter URL
Then turn the key on and add the app to the school's account by its Client ID. Canvas sends us no student names or emails.

The app is under the editor's Apps button (the plug icon).

Lincoln Lions Spring Calendar
Students pick a date right inside Canvas. The teacher enables the link in Settings → Navigation and chooses the calendar once.
For Canvas administrators
- Admin → Developer Keys → + Developer Key → + LTI Key.
- Method: Enter URL, then paste
https://calendarfundraiser.com/api/lti/config. Save and turn the key On. - Copy the key's Client ID. In Admin → Settings → Apps → View App Configurations → + App, choose By Client ID and paste it.
- Teachers now see Calendar Fundraiser under the editor's Apps button. The course menu link is off until a teacher turns it on in Settings → Navigation.
LTI 1.3, privacy level anonymous, no LTI Advantage scopes. Placements: Rich Content Editor (deep linking) and course navigation.
Your data
Canvas sends us a signed launch with the teacher's role and the course and install ids, never names, emails or grades. We keep which course shows which calendar (by a one-way code) and nothing about students. The card a teacher inserts contains only the public calendar link and picture. Questions
Do we need the app to share in Canvas?
No. Any teacher can copy the ready-made announcement text and QR code from the campaign dashboard and post them in Canvas. The app adds a button in the Canvas editor that inserts a calendar card with its picture, and an optional course menu link.
What does Canvas send to CalendarFundraiser?
The app is installed with the "anonymous" privacy level and asks for no extra permissions, so Canvas sends no names, emails or grades. We learn only whether the person is a teacher, so only teachers can add a card or choose a course's calendar.
Who installs it?
A Canvas administrator adds it once as an LTI 1.3 Developer Key from our configuration link, then makes it available to the school's account. After that, every teacher sees it in the editor.
Can students give from inside Canvas?
If a teacher turns on the course menu link and chooses the calendar, students see the calendar inside Canvas and can pick a date. Payment happens securely on the calendar.
Does it work with every Canvas?
It works with Canvas hosted by Instructure (instructure.com). For a self-hosted Canvas, contact us.
