By the CalendarFundraiser team · Published September 12, 2026

“All Hands Lutheran School PTO” is a pseudonym. Every figure is taken from the campaign’s own records on CalendarFundraiser, read on September 12, 2026. The calendar runs through September 30, 2026, so this is a mid-campaign snapshot; the page will be updated when it closes.

A Lutheran school’s PTO built a team calendar in 57 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon and gave every classroom its own link. It raised $2,017 in 10 days from 114 gifts by 62 donors, with the first gift 21 minutes after launch. Seven of fifteen classrooms raised money, and days 7 to 9 out-raised the launch as late-joining rooms brought their own families.

What did the PTO set out to fund?

The year’s classroom budget. The PTO created the campaign at 3:37 PM on a Wednesday, connected payouts, and was live at 4:34 PM with a target of 110 participants, the whole school, and a goal of $51,150 (110 × a $465 September calendar). Fifteen classroom participants joined and each got a personal link and QR code by automatic email. No invite list was uploaded: 113 of the 114 gifts came through classroom links.

How did the money come in, day by day?

$722 by the end of day 4, then the surprise: days 7, 8, and 9 brought $413, $391, and $356 as classrooms that joined late reached their own families. The calendar’s best day was its seventh.

When do supporters give?

The school-family hour is late: the busiest block was 11 PM to 2 AM, Eastern, with a second peak at 4 and 5 PM. Parents gave after bedtime. Plan the team message for the evening.

  • 11 AM–1 PM14 gifts
  • 2–3 PM16 gifts
  • 4–5 PM24 gifts
  • 6–8 PM12 gifts
  • 9–10 PM17 gifts
  • 11 PM–2 AM24 gifts

What did a gift look like?

  • Average gift $17.69; the largest gifts were $42, $39, and two of $30.
  • One date per checkout, one classroom per supporter; 10 supporters boosted their gift above the date, $74 in all.
  • The seven classroom bars sum to $2,007. The other $10 was one gift made on the school’s team calendar itself.
  • The 25th and 30th were the most-claimed dates, then the 10th, 12th, and 15th.
  • 70% of gifts carried a message on the calendar, most of them for a specific classroom. No supporter gave anonymously.
  • 578 link visits and 19 shares produced 114 gifts, one gift for every five clicks.

Hour by hour, what happened?

  1. 3:37 PM · Wednesday · Day 1

Built and live in 57 minutes

Campaign created mid-afternoon, Stripe connected, live at 4:34 PM. Fifteen classroom participants joined through the school's group text.

  2. 4:55 PM · 21 minutes after launch

Each participant gets a personal link by email

113 of 114 gifts came through personal links. No invite list uploaded — the automatic link email plus the class group text did it.

  3. 11 PM · The school-family hour

    Parents give after bedtime

The single busiest hour was 11 PM. $391 landed on day 1, most of it after 9 PM. Plan your team message for the evening, not the school run.

  4. Days 2–4 · Thu · Fri · Sat

37% by day 4 — then a bigger second week

$722 by day 4. The surprise came on days 7–9: $413, $391 and $356 as late-joining families got their links. The second week beat the first.

  5. Days 7–9 · Second wave

The late joiners carried the second week

Every new participant brought their own family burst. 70% of gifts carried a message for a specific child.

  6. The lesson · What to copy

Get every classroom's link out on night one

The families who had a link on day 1 gave on day 1. The ones who got it a week later gave a week later. Same money, one week sooner, if every participant joins the first night.

What should your group copy?

  • Set the goal to the rooms that join. 110 × $465 put the goal at $51,150 and the progress bar at 4%. Fifteen rooms × $465 would have read as 29% and pulled harder.
  • Chase the eight rooms that never shared. Seven active links raised $2,017. Eight more would have doubled it.
  • Send the team message for the late shift. This school’s families gave between 11 PM and 2 AM. An evening reminder lands right before that window.
