What is a graduation party fundraiser?

A graduation party fundraiser is a pick-a-date calendar fundraiser for the send-off: the party, the senior trip, the dorm fund, the one big gift. Instead of relatives asking what to give and the parents fronting the party, you share one calendar in the weeks before graduation; everyone picks a date, the date is the price, and every claim shows their name and a message for the graduate. Graduation day is the deadline.

A real campaign, hour by hour

How a graduation party fundraiser fills in 72 hours

Real numbers, real calendar. One theatre booster club, 58 participants, two weeks, hour by hour. Every calendar fills the same way, yours included.

A 58-member roster, live on a weekday morning

Every cast and crew member got a personal link. First gift 33 minutes after launch; $114 on day 1, $381 on day 3, $610 on day 4.

All 146 gifts came through personal links

58 participants, 146 gifts, 69 donors. A big roster fills steadily rather than in one burst — the pattern is a wave every few days as each family gets around to it.

A re-send to the roster on day 12 brought $254 that day and $485 the next, the biggest day since launch, two weeks in. The nudge is not optional.

Big rosters need a second push, on schedule

Send the team message on day 5 and again on day 12. This club's re-send produced 29% of its total and the biggest day since launch.

Your graduation partyThe playbook

Launch in early May. Text the family first. Nudge on day 5 and again on day 12.

Build the calendar and go live in early May, in the month before graduation. Send the link to family and close friends the same evening, then the wider circle. Expect most of it in the first week, one nudge on day 5, and a re-send on day 12 — the second push was the best day of the real campaign above.

Everything a graduation party fundraiser needs

Built for the parents who host and the relatives who ask what to give: one calendar, one link, everyone picks a date, and the graduate sees every name.

The date is the amount

31 dates, each a cap and tassel. No amounts to invent, no awkward asks — Day 13 is $13, Day 31 is $31.

Ideas

Graduation party fundraiser ideas that fill the calendar

  1. 01

Send graduation day to the grandparents first

Text the link to the grandparents and ask them to claim the date of the ceremony. A claimed graduation day on day one pulls the rest of the calendar.

  2. 02

Put the QR code on the announcement

Every campaign gets a QR code the moment it's built. Print it on the graduation announcement instead of a registry — a scan lands on the calendar.

  3. 03

Messages for the graduate on the supporter wall

Every claim shows a name and a message. Ask everyone to write the advice they'd give, then print the wall as the graduate's send-off book.

  4. 04

One stretch for the party, one for the trip

Tell people days 1–15 pay for the party and 16–31 fund the trip or the dorm. They pick the one they'd rather give toward.

  5. 05

Set the calendar to 2× for the big gift

A laptop or a semester of books needs more than $496. The 2× date-pricing setting makes the 13th $26 and a full month $992 from the same 31 dates.

  6. 06

Let the cousins claim the small dates

Days 1–5 are $1 to $5. Younger cousins and teammates can claim a date with their own message on the calendar.

  7. 07

    Keep the party a party

Keep the calendar as the only money mechanic. Nobody hands the parents cash at the door, and every gift lands with a receipt.

  8. 08

Share it by text, then by group chat

The share menu sends the link by text, email, or WhatsApp in one tap. Family first by text, then the wider circle in the group chat.

  9. 09

    Re-send on day 12

The team message tab sends one email to everyone who's already involved. The real campaign above made 29% of its total from a single re-send.

  10. 10

Give the filled calendar to the graduate

Print it with every name and message. It's the card, the guest list, and the thank-you-note list in one.

Questions

Graduation Party Fundraiser FAQ

How much can a graduation party fundraiser raise?

All 31 dates claimed totals $496 at standard pricing. Set the calendar to 2× and the same 31 dates raise up to $992.

How do I collect money for a graduation gift from relatives?

Share one calendar link with the family. Everyone picks the date they want and gives that amount, and every claim shows a name and a message for the graduate, so it reads as a card, not a request.

What does a graduation party fundraiser cost to run?

Building and running a calendar is free. Contributors pay a small service fee at checkout, shown before they pay, and you keep 100% of calendar gifts. The fee is described in full in our Terms of Service.

When should a graduation party fundraiser start?

Whenever you are ready. This is 2026: click and text, they pick a date and give. Most groups run it in the month before the event so the money is in before it is booked.

Do I need to be an organization?

No. Families run calendars every day. You need a payout account in your name — Stripe or Square — and that's it.

When does the money arrive?

Gifts settle into your own Stripe or Square account. With Stripe, the standard schedule pays out to your bank after 7 days; Square follows its own payout schedule. Either way, payouts run on a regular cycle and go to your bank automatically — you don't have to do anything.

Do contributors need an account?

No. It's a web link: tap a date, enter a name, pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, or card.
