Student privacy
We read only each student's first name, last name, grade and homeroom. Student emails, phone numbers, ID numbers and birth dates are never kept, and the export file is discarded after the import. Participant pages follow your campaign's name privacy setting. Details are in our privacy policy.
Connect directly (for district IT)
Instead of a file, district IT can give you a OneRoster address with a key and secret (OAuth 2 or OAuth 1.0a, OneRoster 1.1 or 1.2). We test it before saving, store the secret encrypted, and read only rosters.
Questions
What is OneRoster?
OneRoster is the standard format school record systems use to share class lists with other tools. Synergy, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward, Aeries and most other student information systems can export it as a single zip file.
Our parents use ParentVUE. Does that work?
Yes. ParentVUE is the parent app for Synergy, the student information system from Edupoint. Ask the school office or district IT for a OneRoster export from Synergy and upload it on your campaign.
What student information do you read?
Only each student's first name, last name, grade and homeroom. We do not keep student emails, phone numbers, ID numbers or birth dates, and the export file is not stored after the import.
Who can import a roster?
An admin of the school's organization on CalendarFundraiser, usually the PTA or booster volunteer running the calendar fundraiser, with a file from the school office.
What if the roster changes?
Import a new export any time. Students already on the campaign stay as they are and only new students are added.
My school uses Canvas. Does that work?
Yes. Canvas is where teachers post coursework; the official student list lives in your student information system (Synergy, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus and others), and Canvas receives its class lists from it. Ask the office for the OneRoster export from that system. Teachers can also post your calendar link in a Canvas course announcement.
Can our district connect directly instead of sending a file?
Yes. District IT can give you a OneRoster address, key and secret. We test the connection before saving it and store the secret encrypted; disconnecting deletes it.
