What is an Eid fundraiser?

An Eid fundraiser is a pick-a-date calendar fundraiser that pays for the community's Eid celebration: the festival food, the children's carnival, the gifts, the hall, the decorations. Instead of collecting at the door, the mosque or school shares one calendar in the weeks before Eid; each family picks a date, the date is the price, and every claim shows their name and an Eid greeting. The festival is the deadline.

A real campaign, hour by hour

How a Eid fundraiser fills in 72 hours

Real numbers, real calendar. One youth basketball club, two waves, hour by hour — including the launch-timing mistake worth avoiding.

Launched late on a Sunday night

The calendar went live at 11:32 PM on a Sunday. The first gift came 36 hours later. Compare: weekday-evening launches on this playbook see a first gift in under two hours.

Launch during Ramadan. Nudge on day 5.

Build the calendar and go live on a weeknight in the second week of Ramadan, so the festival is funded before the last ten nights. Share the link after Jumu'ah and in the community group the same day. Expect the money in the first week, then one message on day 5 — the club above skipped it and waited a week for its second wave.

Ideas

Eid fundraiser ideas that fill the calendar

  1. 01

Launch in the second week of Ramadan

The festival gets planned during the month. A calendar that goes live mid-Ramadan is filled before the last ten nights, when everyone's attention is elsewhere.

  2. 02

Send the day of Eid to the imam first

Text the link to one person and ask them to claim Eid day on the calendar. A claimed Eid on day one pulls the rest of the month.

  3. 03

    One family, one date

Share the link with a single line: pick the date that's yours. Families choose meaningful days, and the calendar fills on meaning, not on pressure.

  4. 04

Eid greetings on the supporter wall

Every claim shows a name and a message. Ask families to leave an Eid Mubarak in the message field, and read the wall at the festival.

  5. 05

Print the QR code on the Eid prayer flyer

Every campaign gets a QR code the moment it's built. Put it on the prayer-time flyer and the masjid notice board — a scan lands on the calendar.

  6. 06

Set the calendar to 2× for a bigger festival

A carnival for 400 children needs more than $496. The 2× date-pricing setting makes the 13th $26 and a full month $992 from the same 31 dates.

  7. 07

Give the children's gifts their own stretch

Days 25–31 cover the Eidi and the gifts. Send those with a personal message to the families who always ask how to help.

  8. 08

    Keep the carnival free

With the calendar covering the budget, the rides and the food can be free for every family. Nobody sells tickets, and every gift lands with a receipt.

  9. 09

    Share it after Jumu'ah

The share menu sends the link by WhatsApp, text, or email in one tap. Friday afternoon, when the community is together, is the moment.

  10. 10

Post the filled calendar at the festival

Print it and display it at the entrance with every family's name. Next year, share last year's calendar with the new link and it fills itself.

Questions

Eid Fundraiser FAQ

How much can an Eid fundraiser raise?

All 31 dates claimed totals $496 at standard pricing. Set the calendar to 2× and the same 31 dates raise up to $992. Team calendars multiply that by the number of participants.

What are good Eid fundraiser ideas for a mosque?

A pick-a-date calendar needs no product and no collection at the door: families claim a date and give that amount, and every claim shows a name and a greeting. Keep the festival free and let the calendar cover the food, the carnival, and the gifts for the children.

What does an Eid fundraiser cost to run?

Building and running a calendar is free. Givers pay a small service fee at checkout, shown before they pay, and organizers keep 100% of calendar donations. The fee is described in full in our Terms of Service.

When should an Eid fundraiser start?

Whenever you are ready. This is 2026: click and text, they pick a date and give. Most groups run it in the month before the event so the money is in before it is booked.

Do we need to be a nonprofit?

No. Mosques, Islamic schools, student associations, and families all run calendars. You need a payout account in your name — Stripe or Square — and that's it.

When does the money arrive?

Donations settle into your own Stripe or Square account. With Stripe, the standard schedule pays out to your bank after 7 days; Square follows its own payout schedule. Either way, payouts run on a regular cycle and go to your bank automatically — you don't have to do anything.

Do givers need an account?

No. It's a web link: tap a date, enter a name, pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, or card.
