What is a teacher appreciation fundraiser?

A teacher appreciation fundraiser is a pick-a-date calendar fundraiser that pays for the class gift, the appreciation-week lunches, and the gift cards, one calendar per classroom under one PTA campaign. Instead of the room parent collecting cash in a folder, families pick a May date on their classroom's calendar, the date is the price, and every claim shows their name and a note for the teacher. The first day of Teacher Appreciation Week is the deadline.

Get every classroom's link out on night one

The families who had a link on day 1 gave on day 1. The ones who got it a week later gave a week later. Same money, one week sooner, if every participant joins the first night.

Your Teacher Appreciation WeekThe playbook

Launch mid-April. Every room parent in the first night. Nudge on day 5.

Build one team campaign with a calendar per classroom and go live on a school night in mid-April. Every room parent shares their classroom's link in the class group text the same evening. Expect the money after bedtime in the first few nights, one team message on day 5, and the ends-in-24-hours email closes it the day before the week begins.

Ideas

Teacher appreciation fundraiser ideas that fill the calendar

  1. 01

    Launch in mid-April

Appreciation Week is the first full week of May. A calendar that goes live in mid-April is filled before the gift cards are bought.

  2. 02

    One calendar per classroom

A team campaign gives every teacher their own calendar under one PTA campaign. Room parents share their own link, and the PTA sees every classroom on one dashboard.

  3. 03

Send the first day of the week to the room parent first

Ask each room parent to claim the first date of Appreciation Week on their classroom's calendar. A claimed date on day one pulls the rest.

  4. 04

Thank-you notes on the supporter wall

Every claim shows a name and a message. Ask families to write their thank-you to the teacher in the message field, then print the wall as the card.

  5. 05

Print the QR code in the folder

Every classroom's calendar gets a QR code the moment it's built. Put it on the note that goes home — a scan lands on that teacher's calendar.

  6. 06

Set the calendar to 2× for a bigger gift

A gift for a teacher and two aides needs more than $496. The 2× date-pricing setting makes the 13th $26 and a full month $992 from the same 31 dates.

  7. 07

    Give grandparents the 20s

Days 20–31 are the high dates. Grandparents love this one — send those with a personal text.

  8. 08

Keep the calendar as the only money mechanic

Every gift lands on the calendar with a name and a receipt. Nobody handles cash, and nobody chases a room parent for an envelope.

  9. 09

Share it in the class group text after bedtime

The share menu sends the link by text, email, or WhatsApp in one tap. School families give late in the evening — an 8 PM share lands.

  10. 10

Give the filled calendar to the teacher

Print it with every family's name and note. It's the card, and it's the record of who gave for the thank-you.

Questions

Teacher Appreciation Fundraiser FAQ

How much can a teacher appreciation fundraiser raise?

All 31 May dates claimed totals $496 per classroom at standard pricing. Ten classrooms on one team campaign is $4,960. Set the calendar to 2× and each classroom raises up to $992.

What are good teacher appreciation week gift ideas the whole class can afford?

A pick-a-date calendar lets every family give what they can — a $2 date or a $30 date — with their name and a note on it. The calendar pays for the gift card, the lunch, and the flowers, and the printed calendar is the card.

What does a teacher appreciation fundraiser cost to run?

Building and running a calendar is free. Givers pay a small service fee at checkout, shown before they pay, and the PTA keeps 100% of calendar donations. The fee is described in full in our Terms of Service.

When should a teacher appreciation fundraiser start?

Whenever you are ready. This is 2026: click and text, they pick a date and give. Most groups run it in the month before the event so the money is in before it is booked.

Can each classroom have its own calendar?

Yes. A team campaign gives every classroom its own calendar and link under one PTA campaign, with every classroom's total on one dashboard.

When does the money arrive?

Donations settle into the PTA's own Stripe or Square account. With Stripe, the standard schedule pays out to your bank after 7 days; Square follows its own payout schedule. Either way, payouts run on a regular cycle and go to your bank automatically — you don't have to do anything.

Do givers need an account?

No. It's a web link: tap a date, enter a name, pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, or card.
